I started in São Paulo, building data platforms and software systems for large enterprises. Cloud infrastructure caught me early: the challenge of making distributed systems reliable, observable, and cost-efficient at scale. That became my career.

Moving to Europe in my mid-twenties changed how I think about this work. Working across time zones, languages, and cultures taught me what certifications don't: cloud problems are mostly people problems. Systems fail because teams don't talk. Costs spiral because nobody owns them. Platforms break because the incentives are misaligned.

What I learned

Governance before optimization. You can't cut what you can't see, and the hardest part was aligning 12 platform teams on a unified tagging taxonomy. Technical solutions are easy; organizational alignment is the real work.

A media corporation needed a scalable analytics platform to process and query massive event streams.

The Approach

Apache Beam pipelines on Google DataFlow, App Engine services, and a BigQuery warehouse, built in Java/Node.js with a React front end.

Unlocked self-serve, real-time analytics over massive event streams on Google Cloud.

What I learned

Design for schema evolution, not just throughput. Event schemas changed six times during the project. Building schema evolution into the pipeline from day one would have saved weeks of rework.
